Volunteering
At St Finian’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that education is a partnership between home, school and parish. One of the greatest gifts our families can offer is their time. By volunteering, you can play a valuable role in enriching the experiences of our children and strengthening our school community.
There are many ways to get involved, whether you can offer a regular commitment or just an occasional helping hand.
At St. Finian's, volunteers support children by listening to them read in the school library, helping to develop their confidence and love of books. In our Reception classes, volunteers can make a real difference through meaningful child-adult conversations, helping our youngest learners to develop their language, communication and social skills.
We also welcome volunteers to accompany school trips, enabling children to enjoy exciting learning opportunities beyond the classroom safely and successfully.
If you enjoy being outdoors, you may wish to support the maintenance and development of our school grounds, gardens and outdoor learning spaces, helping us create a beautiful environment for all to enjoy.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to become more involved in school life, meet other parents and carers, and contributing to the flourishing of our community. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated and has a positive impact on the children. In the summer, all parent volunteers are invited to a thank you tea party in the garden organised by the children.
To find out more about the opportunities available, please contact Mrs Guy in the school office via email or telephone: office@stfinians.w-berks.sch.uk 01635 865 925.
We would be delighted to hear from you.
Thank you.
